It is an absolute pleasure to welcome DJ Phunkn to the Kut Above Crew and to celebrate, we will be adding some of his stellar club, funk & disco mixtapes to the Kut Above Mix Archive over the coming weeks and months.
To start with we have his Funk’d Up Disco – Flashback Vol. 3 Mix.
A delicious blend of old and new that traverses classic flashbacks and blends them with more contemporary and dance-floor ready nu-disco remixes, many of which that are his own productions.
With gigs at the Alexandra Hills Hotel expanding from Friday nights to both Fridays and Saturdays, Mr Phunkn will be sharing the resident duties with yours truely (Dastardly Kuts) as we alternate between the two each week. If this mix is anything to go by, the punters frequenting the Alex when Phunkn is at the helm are set for a dancefloor fed with extra spicey servings of the most delectible funky nu-disco goodness on offer.
